Tsuka Maki Service

About my maki

I provide a tsuka maki service for anyone looking for a durable, long lasting maki at a reasonable price. I provide tumami, hineri, and kata-tsumami/kata-hineri, all can be done in katate.

Note that i only provide the service, i don't make tsuka cores, i don't sell ito, i don't sell sam'e-gawa, or provide fittings, these must all be provided to me for the wrap. However it would be best to send me the tsuka core without applying the sam'e-gawa, sometimes things need to be re-sized to get the best out of a maki, i can't always do that if the sam'e-gawa has already been applied. I'll apply the sam'e gawa after i've examined the fittings and ito to determine a good shape for the tsuka. If you feel the tsuka is perfect for the maki, then by all means apply the sam'e-gawa yourself.

Prices

$3-Inch: Hineri (Only in; cotton, silk, leather, suede/doeskin)

$6-Inch: Tsumami (Only in; Silk, leather, suede/doeskin)

$5-Inch: Kata-tsumami kata-hineri. This type of maki is where the bottom strand is hineri while the top strand is tsumami (Only in; Silk, leather, suede/doeskin)

$2-Inch: Spiral portion of katate

For example; a ten inch tsuka only in hineri would cost $30, a tsuka with 3 inches of hineri ($9) plus 7 inches of katate ($14) will cost $23, etc. This price only includes the wrap, i don't offer ito or fittings of any kind unless i specify such an agreement personally, other charges will be applied in such an event. These new prices are what i originally intended to use, but was suggested by others to increase them, but now that i have another income i'd almost wrap a tsuka for free.

Remember to measure *ONLY* the portion that will be wrapped, i can't charge for the fuchi-gashira.

To discuss a maki for me to do you can e-mail me.

Big thanks to everyone that allowed me to work on their swords and in turn allow me to improve. There have been more tsuka than what's shown here, but i really like these.
